More than just a road...

Grossglockner Hochalpenstrassen AG – abbreviated to the GROHAG group – is the founding and operating company of several tourist excursion destinations in Austria. This includes four experience roads - the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, Gerlos Alpine Road, Nockalm Road and Villach Alpine Road. Since 2004 GROHAG has also been managing Krimml Worlds of Water, which forms a touristic framework for Krimml Waterfalls - Europe’s biggest waterfalls.

Excursion destinations in that grey area between nature, technology & tourism

Each and every year some 2.5 million people visit GROHAG excursion destinations – of this number, 200,000 visit the Nockalm Road. GROHAG’s experience roads and attractions have always experienced a conflict in interests between nature, technology and tourism and we give our best day in, day out to tackle this as best we can! In so doing we do of course fully meet all the requirements of the special natural areas which surround our excursion destinations, which include the Hohe Tauern National Park, Dobratsch Nature Park and the UNESCO Nockberge Biosphere Reserve. We also show our guests the elements that are worthy of protection. Add to that our criteria for entrepreneurial action in all areas, maximum sustainability and an attentive approach to natural resources.
